Massage therapy is an effective approach to rehabilitation and pain management. It consists of hands-on manipulation of the soft tissues of the body, for the purpose of optimizing function and improving health. Soft tissues include muscles, tendons, ligaments and joints.
At Green Lake Massage Therapy, we are committed to restoring and maintaining pain-free function of the body. We are trained to accurately assess and manage each individual client’s needs with a variety of techniques that include deep tissue massage, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, joint mobilization, and rehabilitative exercise such as stretching, strengthening, postural exercise and most importantly, patient education.
Massage therapy is an effective treatment for many different conditions and symptoms, including but not limited to the following:
Headaches
Migraines
Low Back Pain
Sciatica
Neck Strain
Tendonitis/repetitive strain injury
Arthritis
Fibromyalgia
Sports injuries
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
Sprain/Strain
TMJ Dysfunction
Motor Vehicle Injuries
Pregnancy (pre/post partum)
Deep Tissue Massage reaches deeper layers of muscles. It is used to break down "knots" and relieve trigger points throughout the body. This massage is beneficial for athletes and those who sit for long periods of time.
The goal of Swedish Massage is to melt away muscle tension and increase the blood flow to all areas of your body. Swedish Massage is extremely therapeutic as it decreases muscle toxins, increases oxygen levels in the blood, and improves flexibility in the body.
During pregnancy, a woman's body adapts and goes through many changes. As the baby is growing, many expectant mothers experience discomfort or pain in different areas. Massage during this time can help to alleviate these symptoms and make pregnancy a much more enjoyable experience.
